Verse 3

मधुकैटभविध्वंसि विधातृवरदे नमः ।
रूपं देहि जयं देहि यशो देहि द्विषो जहि ॥३॥ 
  • मधु-कैटभ-विध्वंसि = Who Destroyed the Demons Madhu and Kaitabha
  • विधातृ-वरदे = Brahma-benefactor =Grantor of the Boon of Protection to Sri Brahma
  • नमः = Salutations
  • रूपम् = (Spiritual) beauty
  • देहि = you give (conjugation ददाति)
  • जयम् = victory
  • यशः = (sing. acc. of यशस्) (Spiritual) Glory
  • द्विषः = enemies/haters = (plural acc. of द्विष्)
  • जहि = destroy/slay = (conjugation of हन्ति)
Salutations to Devi Durga Who Destroyed the Demons Madhu and Kaitabha, thus Granting the Boon of Protection to Sri Brahma.
O Devi, Please Grant me (Spiritual) Beauty, Please Grant me (Spiritual) Victory, Please Grant me (Spiritual) Glory and Please Destroy my (Inner) Enemies.

विद्यावन्तं यशस्वन्तं लक्ष्मीवन्तञ्च मां कुरु । रूपं देहि जयं देहि यशो देहि द्विषो जहि ॥१७॥ विद्या-वन्तम् = education-endowed यशस्-वन्तम् = glory-endowed लक्ष्मी-वन्तम् = wealth-endowed च = and  माम् = me (acc.) कुरु = do रूपं देहि जयं देहि यशो देहि द्विषो जहि = Please Grant me (Spiritual) Victory, Please Grant me (Spiritual) Glory and Please Destroy my (Inner) Enemies. O Devi, Please Make me Full with Knowledge, Please Make me Full with Glory and Please Make me Full with the attributes of Lakshmi (Beauty and Prosperity). O Devi, Please Grant me (Spiritual) Beauty, Please Grant me (Spiritual) Victory, Please Grant me (Spiritual) Glory and Please Destroy my (Inner) Enemies.
